Authority : 12^th SAARC Carrom countries Championship will be organised by the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka under the authority granted by the Asian Carrom Confederation.

Date : 11^th to 13^th October, 2008

Venue : Plam Beach Hotel, Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka.

3. Men’s Singles 4. Women’s Singles

5. Men’s Doubles 6. Women’s Doubles

7. Mixed Doubles

Rules The Championship will be conducted in accordance with the current ICF Laws

of Carrom.

Umpiring The umpiring will be in English.

Eligibility Only member Federations / Associations which have paid their annual subscriptions and other dues, if any, up to and including that the year preceding the championship shall be eligible to participate.

Entry Each Federation / Association may enter maximum of 03 Men & 03 Women Players .

The Organising Committee reserves the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason.

Submission of entries :

Entries should be submitted with two sets of entry forms duly filled and shall be returned

together with the requisite entry fees on or before the 10^thOctober, 2008 to the

Organizing Secretary, Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka.

All entry forms should be signed by the President or Secretary of the nominating Federation / Association under their official seal.

Hospitality :

Free hospitality including local transport from 10^th to 14^th October, 2008, will be

provided to the players and the official listed in the official entry form and officials

and delegates invited from abroad in accordance with the rules and regulations of

the ACC. It will be 10^th Oct, 12 .noon to 14^th Oct, 12.00. noon 2008

Technical Committee :

The meeting of the Technical Committee will be held at 19.00 hours on the

10^th October, 2008 at the Hotel .

Draw :

The draw will be conducted by the Technical Committee of the championship on the

day before the championship, commencing at 19.00 Hours, at the championship hall.

Representatives from the participating Federations / Associations may attend the draw,

with prior intimation to the Organising Secretary and the Secretary General ACC.

Match Schedule :

A copy of the draw and the match schedule shall be displayed on the notice board

at the venue. The organizers of the championship reserve the right to alter the

Schedule of the proposed days and times at their discretion.

Protest :

All protests written in English, addressed to the Organising Chairman of the

Championship shall be submitted with full particulars through the Chief Referee

within 15 minutes of the completion of that particular board with the prescribed

Scrutiny fee i.e. 50 us Dollars. If the protest is upheld, the match shall continue

from the particular board in which the protest was lodged and the scrutiny fee

shall be refunded. In case the protest is over-ruled, the result already obtained

shall stand and the scrutiny fee shall be forfeited.

Events and entry Fees :--

Entry Fees US $ 65/= per person (if participating in the ICF Cup too)

Otherwise US$150/- per person.

CARROM CHAMPIONSHIP - 2008

System of play :--

* Team Event :

The Team Manager / Captain shall nominate the names of the players in writing for each

match and submit the list to the Chief Referee.

A team shall consist of three singles matches to be played simultaneously and the winning

team shall be awarded one point.

All matches including the final shall be played on the basis of best of three 08 boards or 25

points, whichever comes first.

If there are six or less teams they will be placed in a single group and all teams will play

amongst themselves on a league basis.

If there are more than six teams they shall be divided into two groups A & B and the

matches shall be played on a league-cum knock-out basis.

In the event of a tie between two teams the team, which had won the earlier match, would

be placed higher for securing the position. If there are more than two teams having equal

points, the positions will be decided on the basis of the matches Won and Lost. If there is

a tie even at this stage, the scores for and against the teams shall be taken into account and

their positions determined.

Semi – Finals :-- Winner group ‘A’ Vs Runner-Up group ‘B’

Winner group ‘B’ Vs Runner-Up group ‘A’

Finals :-- The two Winners will play for the Semi -- 1^st& 2^nd Place

The two Losers will play for the Semi -- 3^rd& 4^thPlace

* Singles Event :--

The singles event shall be played on a League-cum Knock-out basis as decided by the

Technical Committee.

* Doubles and Mixed Doubles :--

The Men’s / Women’s Doubles and the Mixed Doubles events will be played on a

knock-out basis.

The players participating in the Men’s / Women’s doubles event will not be allowed to

participate in the Mixed Doubles event.

Awards :--

Certificates, Medals & Trophies shall be awarded to the teams / players securing the First,

Second & Third positions in the championship.

Equipments :--

“ PRECISE “ Carrom Boards and “ White Slam “ Carrommen will be used at the championship.
